After recovering from illness, you need to restore your body immunity as well as stamina to get back in shape. Indeed, after recovering, the body cannot immediately get back at 100 percent as before. During the recovery period, you need to take steps to boost your immune system so you can return to your daily activities.

It is a fact that immunity and stamina are energy that support your physical and mental activities to function properly in the long term. For those of you who are recovering from illness, here are some ways to increase your body's immunity.

1. Exercise regularly

The first way to increase the body's immunity after being ill is to start exercising regularly. It must be tiring and feel heavy to start exercising. Even if it is indeed difficult, try push yourself to do physical activity as physical activities will help you to restore the body condition after illness. You can start with light exercise such as light cycling, morning walks, or jogging.

Done efficiently, exercise can improve heart, lung, and muscle health. Physical activity can increase your stamina. For those of you who deals with deadlines every day, it's good to exercise to pump up your stamina.

2. Drink lots of water

Further way to increase your body’s immunity after recovering from illness is to increase your intake consumption of water. Keeping the body hydrated is one way to restore the body's condition. In general, a person needs to drink 2 liters or 8 glasses of water every day.

To see whether your body is getting enough water or not drinking enough or not, try looking at the color of your urine. If your urine is dark yellow, it means you are not drinking enough. However, if the color is bright yellow to clear, it means you are getting enough fluid intake.

3. Eat Regularly

After an illness, your body usually still feels weak. To overcome that, try to eat more as a way to restore your body’s stamina and immune system. You may want to eat in small portions but frequently throughout the day.

Also, pay attention to the selection of your food intake. Choose food with complex carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates usually take longer to be absorbed by the body and prevent spikes in blood sugar.

4. Get Enough Sleep

Even though you need to be physically active during your recovery, don't neglect rest. Lack of sleep can increase fatigue which makes your body lack the energy in the following day. Adequate sleep can increase stamina and reduce fatigue. Therefore, it is important to set rest times and sleep. In general, everyone needs at least 10 minutes to rest between activities. Also, try to have sleep for 7-8 hours every day.

5. Sufficient Vitamin and Mineral Needs

The next way to increase the body's immunity is to make sure you get enough vitamins and minerals. Meeting the requirements or these nutrients would increase your body’s defense.
