About the product

The antiemetic properties of dimenhydrinate are primarily thought to be produced by diphenhydramine's antagonism of H1 histamine receptors in the vestibular system while the excitatory effects are thought to be produced by 8-chlorotheophylline's adenosine receptor blockade.

Composition

Dimenhydrinate BP 50 mg

Dose & Usage
  • Adult (therapeutic and prophylactic dose): 3 or 4x (50-100 mg) daily
  • Children 6-8 y.o: 2 or 3 x (12,5 - 25 mg) daily
  • Children 8-12 y.o: 2 or 3 x ( 25 - 50 mg) daily
  • Children > 12 y.o: 2 or 3 x 50 mg daily
  • For prevention of motion sickness the first dose should be given 30 minute before depature
